Banco Ripley Case Study

Enhancing User Experience.

A Collaborative Approach.
Banco Ripley

Banco Ripley is the premier retail bank in Chile and Peru and is part of the larger Ripley Corp. With over 130 locations and a digital wallet, they work to improve people’s quality of life by simplifying their financial lives.

The Project.

Ripley recognized the urgent need to modernize its Electronic Funds Transfer System (EFTS) to ensure seamless operations for its users in Chile and Peru. The existing system faced reliability issues, prompting Ripley to embark on a comprehensive overhaul. The objective was clear: to establish a robust and resilient EFTS that would consistently meet the evolving needs of customers in both countries.

Our Solution.

The upgrade initiative involved thoroughly assessing the existing infrastructure. Key priorities included enhancing system scalability, fortifying security measures, and optimizing user experience. Through adopting state-of-the-art technologies, Ripley aimed to bolster the resilience and performance of the EFTS, reaffirming its dedication to delivering unparalleled value and service excellence to its customers in Chile and Peru.

The transformation involved replacing the existing monolithic web services (WSs) architecture with a more agile and scalable approach based on microservices. By breaking down complex functionalities into smaller, independent services, Ripley ensured that its systems could handle high volumes of operations seamlessly, without any interruptions in service. The adoption of AWS provided Ripley with greater agility and cost-efficiency, enabling rapid deployment of updates and optimizations while minimizing infrastructure overhead. This shift to microservices architecture enabled Ripley to dynamically allocate resources based on demand, ensuring optimal performance even during peak periods.
